  5. Like most pirate scenes, there's always been more grime on the airwaves than in the shops, but recently the latter has shrunk massively. However a small cluster of labels are determined to turn things around. http://www.kmag.co.uk/editorial/features/grime-in-2010

Tijn aka JazzyJazzy is a Techno, House, Dubstep & Trance producer hailing from West London. Music has always been a part of JJ's life. With his Dad being a selector and singer for UK based sound system King Tafari Love, there was always some kind of music blaring in the house. Anything from Studio 1 classics to Elvis Presley to Zinc. He first experimented with making music in june/july 2006 at the age of 15. For the year 2007 His new years resolution was to start making music properly so he started to make dubstep & grime music drawing influence from the likes of D.O.K, Quest, Cessman, Silkie, Skream, Spyro & Digital Mystikz along with people from other genres such as Quincy Jones, Yabby You, LTJ Bukem, Joey Negro, Keith Worthy, Zapp & Roger, Franck Roger, Patrice Scott, Photek & many many more. As time went on the production side of grime grew less appealing and by late 2007 Tijn was leaning more towards Dubstep whilst also starting to produce House music continuing to get better and always learning new skills. At the moment JJ is focusing more on the J. Tijn side of production with JazzyJazzy taking a backseat momentarily. Forthcoming releases: JazzyJazzy - Convicshorn/Snorkel Set - Gangsta Boogie Music JazzyJazzy - Pandering To The Androids - Untitled! 17. 'Anybody who thinks I can't do it anymore better step right back and take that' is Wiley's opening salvo on his new club and radio heater. Wiley's been accustomed to switching up the game, right back to the days when he urged the garage establishment to 'go that way' and lead a new generation into his Eskimo dance raves, giving birth to grime. Now he's picked a ghetto-house production with chainsaw bass by Brooklyn producer Chew Fu to bring a new sound forward again. The lyrics name check Island Records label mate Tinchy Stryder ('went No.1 with No.1, yeah that's my brother'), the grime crew he founded Roll Deep (I was in the charts with 'Avenue' and 'Shake A Leg') as well as British pop institution Take That ('I was in a Bedford nightclub…saw a member of the group Take That'). Wiley is one of the original catalysts for bringing English rappers and MCs into the mainstream - whether that is Chipmunk starting as a member of his Eskibeat Recordings or Tinchy Stryder who he mentored when he started MCing at 14. Even now Wiley is supporting the next generation 'about to blow' away from the eyes of the mainstream (look out for new faces featuring on his album out in 2010). Zane Lowe has made Take That his Hottest Record In The World. Fearne Cotton is crowning it her Record Of The Week. Other DJs to support include Jo Whiley and MistaJam. Meanwhile Wiley still turns up at Rinse FM for surprise appearances and fans of avant-garde music continue to analyse the icy structure of his productions. He's a giant in grime, a one-off and anyone that thinks he can't do it anymore can take that.http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/take-that-single/id343347076http://www.7digital.com/artists/wiley-and-chew-fu/take-that/http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=280;0;-1;-1;-1&sku=303280Help Wiley Get his first NO.1 !!!www.wileymusic.co.uk // www.twitter.com/vneckjumper // www.myspace.com/eskiboywiley

  19. This thread is an automatic RSS feed from our home page and it is best viewed in it's original format here. It’s actually Christmas day, which can only mean one thing…the biggest dinner ever, but lets not forget that this means the year is quickly drawing to a close. You already know what this means, numerous lists of ones to watch that will probably never be heard from again, and people you don’t know screaming, “2010 is gonna be my year fam”. Sure it is.The fact is with the current state of the music industry as a whole, Grime as the music we love has also slighty suffered. This is just because of the decline of industry as a whole, it has nothing to do with the artists who are constantly churning out great music, the DJ’s who provide great live and radio sets, or the producers providing the backbone to the whole thing. They work hard, and it is obvious if you want to acheive any thing out of this hobby your gonna have to work harder. Anyway 2009 has been a year to celebrate, so much has been done, and we just wanted to take this opportunity to remind you of some of the stuff. There have been a lot of free downloads/twitter giveaways/forum exclusives/secret downloads etc that people missed out on, so we want to give you this…DOWNLOAD We collected tracks from some of the best free downloads this year to present this package to you, and then sprinkled some new exclusives from our forum favourites on top as well. There’s stuff from Scorcher, True Tiger, Skepta, Rudekid, Tinchy Stryder, Silencer and much much more, so all I can say is, ENJOY… and oh yeah theres probably gonna be a Wrapped 2009 part 2. Also make sure you get on the forum and nominate your favourite artists for a Grime award this year, nominations close on the 31st. We’ve gotta give the artists the recognition they’ve worked so hard for.Merry Christmas, and I’ll see you in 2010. Pow.Geo
