Ashton suffers fracture

Recommended Posts

Shrewsbury defender Neil Ashton will miss the start of the new season after specialists confirmed he has sustained an elbow fracture.Ashton sustained the injury during last week's 2-0 friendly defeat to Manchester City at New Meadow, but initial X-rays proved inconclusive. But now specialists at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital have detected a break.Town boss Gary peters said: "Ashy has got a slight fracture in the bone around his elbow."It is frustrating because he will be out for a good six weeks and we can ill afford to lose him."With Ashy out, it hands us a problem for the first few weeks of the season."
