so it seems that sky won this war bigtime. the fallout is ridiculous, the casualties:*40,000 customers left virgin for sky when the fight began over the sky channels biz*70,000 less people signed up as a whole as compared to last quarter, * revenue at the newly formed VM is down 40% compared to last quarter, including loss of advertising revenue* sky is reporting 200,000 new customers in the same 2nd quarter compared to VM's *VM is definately gonna be sold off within the next 12 months, the board has lost confidence in branson for taking it too personal, and branson is accusing them of being whimpsso it bill gates might not be the anti-christ after all.. its murdoch

* sky is reporting 200,000 new customers in the same 2nd quarter compared to VM's Compared to VM's what? Or did you mean 200,000 more new customers?
yeah, virgin lost 40,000 or reporting a 25% drop in new customers.. didnt say the total. while sky's reporting a gain.. and they would have more anyway.

It was never a war. Sky was ALWAYS many times more bigger and powerful then Virgin. If anything all Sky did was re-establish their status-quo of dominance over virgin. Also, where did you get this info from? some of those facts have been twisted

i didnt twist anything. it was a war, NTL tried it, then merged with telewest, then merged with Virgin.. branson clearly stated that it was time sky's dominance was broken, and the new company was in a good position to begin this. being bigger, better and more powerful doesnt mean you have to win..it's just an advantage. ask sony.sky's advertising campaign alone killed off VM.

every cable/satellite provider experiences a dip in Q2. thats just how the market is. it will pick up by Q3 and 4 as Christmas approaches.
