Steve Bruce is still trying to push through a deal for Arsenal youngster Johan Djourou. The Birmingham City boss has been active in the transfer market over the summer and could soon take his recruitment drive into double figures.Though Hossam Ghaly's move to St Andrews has collapsed, Mido's switch from Tottenham Hotspur has been revived. And Arsenal defender Djourou could also join Blues after team-mate Mathieu Flamini opted to stay at Emirates Stadium.Bruce admits he has not finished his spending spree, revealing any deal for Mido would not be the last before the close of the transfer window. Not finished yet"That will not be the end of things," said Bruce in response to the Mido deal."I'm still possibly in for Djourou. It's a possibility still."It's getting near the start of the season, but if you remember this time last year we got our three best signings right before the big kick-off in the three Arsenal boys Nicklas Bendtner, Fabrice Muamba and Sebastian Larsson."We are pleased with what we have done and brought in. Rest assured, we haven't finished yet."

Birmingham have made their tenth signing of the summer in landing Arsenal's Johan Djourou on loan. The 20-year-old is due to stay with Blues until January 2008, although there is an option to extend the deal for the remainder of the season. The Switzerland international, who joined The Gunners from Swiss club Etoile Carouge in summer 2003, made 21 Premier League appearances last season. However, Arsene Wenger has allowed the Ivory Coast-born defender to continue his education at St Andrew's following the arrival of Bacary Sagna. Blues boss Steve Bruce believes Djourou has a long Arsenal future ahead of him. "I honestly think that Djourou can be an Arsenal defender for 10 years," stated Bruce. "I am delighted Arsene Wenger has allowed Johan to join us. "He has got strength, pace, great ability on the ball, is a very good footballer and is comfortable at the back and in midfield. Birmingham have signed Djourou in time for him to be in contention to make his debut against Chelsea in this weekend's season opener.

Come to think of it Djourou will be definate starter for brum and would be be back just in time when Toure heads off to the ANC. Coming back with extra 1st team experience in the prem than he would've had had he stayed on the bench would no doubt be good for him.Think it's a good move.
