Wigan's bad boy jail fear

Recommended Posts

PRO_554350_RachidBouaouzan.jpgRACHID BOUAOUZAN, Wiganâs new Dutch signing, nearly went to jail after ending a rivalâs career with a horror challenge. Bad-boy Bouaouzan, 23, has agreed a dream £300,000 move to the Premier League from Sparta Rotterdam â because no club at home would touch him.The winger made history in Holland when he became the first player to be charged following a tackle on Niels Kokmeijer. The victim spent almost a year in hospital after the incident in December 2004, had eight operations on his broken leg and still has problems walking.Sparta suspended Bouaouzan (left) for the rest of the season and the Dutch FA banned him for 10 games. The courts then stepped in and he was given a six-month suspended sentence for criminal violence.
