As in "Will Messi be considered the GOAT?" He won't. This entire year would have to be bonkers, winning League, Champions League, and World Cup kinda bonkers... It aint happening.

It kinda hurts to say it but Ronaldo will likely go down as the GOAT. His consistency and longevity, winning at International level and winning back to back Champions leagues (Winning 3 times in 4 years is outrageous) pretty much cements how history will perceive the 2. I'll always prefer to watch Messi play though.

Pmsl your full of shit.

Maradona won a Quarter Final on his own against England.(Not a group stage game against Nigeria ?? and Iran ??)

Quarter Final isn't enough for this guy

He actually won a Semi-Final on his own against Belgium ??.

Was man marked in the final but somehow he managed to play the GOAT through ball for the winning goal.

You can cape for Raul Jr as much as you want.

He will never dominate a major international tournament

'You have to do an analysis in all aspects,' he said of the Barcelona star. 'The Argentines criticise Messi a lot, but you can tell that when Messi is not there, they are something else.

'A player like Messi should not be criticised. You should thank God that he's there.

Messi temporarily retires from international football

1 hour ago 18:51

Argentina captain Lionel Messi has chosen to step down from international football "until further notice," according to TNT Sports.

Having failed to take the World Cup title in his fourth attempt this summer, the Barcelona star has made himself unavailable for selection in Argentina's upcoming friendlies.

The decision, which has the consent of AFA president Claudio Tapia and interim coach Lionel Scaloni, will remain in place for the rest of 2018 and, indeed, until Messi decides otherwise.
