You don't want one of the top 3 right backs on earthRichards would be cack for you
Would rather spend 20million on a 19year old who can play cb and rb who still has time to be moulded into a world class player then 20million on a 25year old foreign player who we dont really need..

m.fernandesYakubuBarryA.youngBentleyPetrovirelandRichardsBerbatovKingBaleOkay in all seriousness:-Experienced premier league centre back - needs to have a bit of pace but no names scream out who are available. Wes brown look good until he signed that new contract. Dunne might be available but he wouldn't sign. The criteria is the player needs to be experinced in the premiership, be reliable and have decent speed. No way can/should a 19 year old be leading the defensive line.Left back - not urgent but enriques been dodgy, nzogbias better in midfield and i'm not convinced by edgar (yet). Again haven't got a name that screams out but anyhow Baines, Bridge or even silvestre became availabel them they should be snapped up.Holding mid - again we can get hype and shout out names like cana, moutinho, bodmer etc. But truth is it won't be none of them. Apparently appiahs available and he would be a good signing. Geremi and butt can be improved upon. Would take sidwell or nolan although neitehrs a holding mid.Creative mid - an absolute must. Again names like nasri, mancini are out of our reach. I don't really mind who comes in as long as they replace that useless half a fag emre. Striker - MOTHERf*ckING ALAN 'I WANT THE BEST DEFENSIVE STRIKER TAG' SMITH. Must be sold he's an average striker and a sh*t midfielder. Brian McBride would be a great replacement as he's like for like but as we already have Viduka, owen and martins (1 of whom may leave) we don't need a massive overhaul. I'd look at a relegated striker as McFadden, Forsell, Zarate or even Lita or Doyle could do a job as 3rd choice and would cost little over 5 million.Creative mid.

Benzema or Villa pleasesign Veloso then send him back to Sporting on loan for a yearBring through Pique and Simpson more in pre-season, if there not cutting it then a young-ish centre back that can also play right back. wouldn't mind Curtis Davis. Definately in the Rio Ferdinand mould

Alan Curbishley will make a cut price £2.5million move for Reading left-back Nicky Shorey - but must sell before he can buy, according to the Daily Mirror. West Ham manager Curbishley was told at a board meeting yesterday he must slash the wage bill. The club could offload Freddie Ljungberg, Luis Boa Morte, Lucas Neill and Bobby Zamora. Carlton Cole, Nigel Quashie and Calum Davenport are also likely to be sold.

Tottenham and Newcastle are going head to head for Manchester City defender Richard Dunne. The Ireland international, who was sent off against Middlesbrough on Sunday, has been outstanding at City but is believed to have grown tired of the continued politics surrounding the club and is looking for a fresh challenge. Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan has long been a fan of the £6m-rated 28-year-old having managed him at City and played a part in his transformation into one of the most consistent defenders in the top flight. Spurs are keen to recruit Dunne as a partner for Jonathan Woodgate with doubts remaining over Ledley King's long term future. They are unlikely to be able to match Newcastle's wages but would offer European football. Newcastle are also interested in Paris St Germain striker Amara Diane, 25, who Keegan watched on Saturday and Nantes defender Aristote Lusinga, 18. Meanwhile, Shrewsbury will receive around £500,000 if Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart, 21, makes his England debut against USA later this month after Fabio Capello called him up to the full squad.
Dunne will be a good buy for someone. Arsenal fans how would you feel about Wenger making a bid for him?

A three-man delegation from Newcastle United watched St Etienne's highly-rated striker Bafetimbi Gomis in action on Saturday night. Manager Kevin Keegan, along with assistant Terry McDermott and director of football Dennis Wise were flown into Paris in order to give the forward the once-over during PSG's relegation struggle against their UEFA Cup-chasing visitors.Gomis is one of the hottest properties in European football and St Etienne are believed to have put a price of around 22m Euros on his head. The trio were believed to have been whisked into Paris on owner Mike Ashley's private jet as the Toon begin to beef up their plans for next season's assault on the Barclays Premier League.
