OXFORD Street murder victim Steven Bigby was on bail over the brutal gang rape of a girl when he died, The Sun can reveal.He was also on bail for a SECOND attack in which a man was repeatedly stabbed in a gang fight.Bigby, 22 — who was knifed and had his throat slit in front of horrified London shoppers on Monday — was charged in January with nine others over the horrific rape of the 16-year-old girl.She was beaten before gang members took turns to rape her. They doused her with skin-burning caustic soda in what cops believe was a bid to destroy DNA evidence.At one point it was feared she would die from burns. But last Tuesday Bigby — a member of North London gang Tugs From Around — was freed on bail.The decision came just six months after Bigby was bailed after being charged with GBH and violent disorder over the 2006 knifing of a 22-year-old man in Southgate, North London.Meanwhile, it emerged last night that a 17-year-old boy living next door to Bigby’s mum was stabbed hours after her son was killed in Oxford Street.He was wounded in Dalston, East London, at 8pm on Monday by rival gang members. It is unclear if it was in revenge for Bigby’s killing.Bigby died after throwing a drink over a rival gang member, sparking off a mass brawl in Oxford Street.London Mayor Boris Johnson yesterday declared war on knife crime after two fatal stabbings in the capital in three days.And the Met Police stepped up controversial stop and searches using metal detectors to identify youths carrying knives.TWO men aged 18 and 19 were last night arrested over Bigby’s murder.
