I was having a discussion with my girlfriend and I have come to the conclusion that our sub-culture (by our culture, I mean uk urban grime/hip hop) serves to socialise us into finding light skin girls more attractive.That’s not to say, that we’re meant to find dark skin girls ugly and light girls choongBut we’ve been socialised into EXPECTING the lighter skin girl to be prettierThink about it rap videos and lyrics, artists like jay-z continually praising the light skin girlEven us man when we’re telling someone about a girls choong friend, if she’s light, “she was with some choong light skin thing” if shes dark “she was with some next choong thing”Heads that claim that light skin girls are overrated, do u still find yourself expecting the light skin girl to be prettier wen told about a couple of females by a friendMy question to u is…. Do u think u’ve been socialised to slyly think this way?And to the light skin/ mixed race people of the forumViolet claims that shes never seen any real evidence in real life (not the media) for the idea that some people only hype up others cuz their mixed or lightIs this the same 4 u?

Yesand possibly.. but my reason is due to personal experience.. I personally havent seen that many busted lighties (im sure there are loads) but Ive seen alot of busted darkies... and im taking about everyday life not on tv or whatever
