I dont usually use iTunes to listen to music and i havent updated my ipod in about a year so i thought its time to do itBut when i add a tune to my itunes and i change the name it automatically changes the name of the file alltogether rather than just doing the track on itunes - anyway i can stop it from doing this?Safe

depends if your ipod was ORIGINALLY synched from that pc if it wasnt you loose everything and start clean.

Nah, not thatWhen i open a tune in itunes library (ive just installed itunes so theres nothing on there cause im gonna redo my whole ipod) i go to change, say, the artist name so its easier to find when it goes on my ipod - when i change it on itunes it automatically changes the full file

Can't do anything about it, as far as I know. It's irritating when you change the file name outside of itunes, & itunes doesn't recognise it anymore, so you have to re-add.
