United warn Real over Ronaldo

Recommended Posts

Manchester United have threatened to report Real Madrid to Fifa if the Spanish side continue to pursue Cristiano Ronaldo in such an 'unacceptable fashion'.The Portuguese winger has been regularly linked with a summer move to Real despite United's insistence that he will be staying at Old Trafford. The speculation has intensified in recent weeks with various Real officials speaking about their interest in Ronaldo.United have now expressed their frustration and issued a threat to Real to back off or face possible Fifa actionA statement on the club's official website read: "Manchester United has watched with growing irritation the comments attributed to Real Madrid over their alleged desire to sign Cristiano Ronaldo."The facts are: The player is on a long-term contract and his registration is held by Manchester United."The player is not for sale.Unsettling"The club will have no alternative but to report Real Madrid to the world governing body, Fifa, if it continues to behave in this totally unacceptable fashion."These public attempts to unsettle the player are completely against the regulations and the club will not tolerate them any longer."In addition, the club is certain that they are a distraction for the Portuguese national squad as they prepare for the European Championships."No-one should be in any doubt that Manchester United will do everything in its power to keep its best players."
What Real Madrid are doing is a pisstake imo. I'm sure Arsenal(in regard to fabregas) fans can relate to how us United fans feel as well regarding reals illegal pursuit of contracted players.

Its about time that the summer is not about a big Arsenal player leaving for a team who just wouldnt take no for an answer.Henry and Vieira had speculation about them leaving year after year, Madrid just dont take learn cause they have never been punished.Hope Ronaldo stays, would be a big loss for the Prem. P.S. if he does go expect Fabregas' name to be the big Prem player leaving next.

All them players mentioned were not huge names before Fergie went in for them and they played for clubs that dont have the history, goals and aspirations that Man Utd have.Real have a tendency to unsettle seemingly happy players that have excelled and are the talking point in football eg. Henry, Ronaldo, Vieira, Fabregas plus many more just cant be bothered to think right now.

Stating an interest in a player is very different from repeatedly making comments on how you will do everything to get him and so on.I dont recall Fergie ever going to such extreme measures to capture a player.

You cant compare because Hargreaves, Carrick, Ruud and Saha all jumped at the chance to play for United it didnt take a lot at all.Whereas the players Real are after are settled at big clubs that are all challenging for the same trophies in there leagues and europe.Im not saying Fergie didnt tap up players he just didnt do it to the extent Real have and are doing.

Standard, man doesn't want to close a window which he might wanna use in the future.

Ronaldo really should say he wants to stay out of respect to Fergie and the team but him stating he wants to stay wont put off Real they will still pursue.

Ronaldo says the truth tbh. i think he only says "who no's about the future" because he wants to play in spain and doesnt want to end the chance of him getting to by commiting his future 100% to where he is now. Otherwise he would have said it already but he DOES want to play in spain one day as he has stated, just not yet.

lol @ trna say what we did was the samewe made outright bids for the players and were rejected and bidded again, because the club is so big & players are attracted to it, that was the unsettling factor..We didnt come with campaign after campagin of newspaper articles and press conferences to unsettle players in order to get them to join..dont even say its the same..You are confusign the actually tryign to buy a player......wich of course will take some coersion and moneys, with trying to unsettle a player, although the first may have the this effect simply because of its nature, it is not the same thing.

no u didnt come with newspaper campaigns and press conferencesu flew over player and illegally met them without any contact with the respective clubs tbh everyone does it in world football but it jus makes it funny when man u complainThe PSV chairman said: "United approached us some months ago about their interest in Arjen but then I heard that Robben was in Manchester last week and I didn't know anything about that. There was absolutely no contact from any United delegate and we are unhappy that we did not know one of our players was visiting another club without our permission."

Ronaldo loves the attention. I find it interesting, Ronaldo could have deaded the talk from the get go but he's been adding fuel to the fire by saying things that make you wonder. Do you think Ferguson would have tolerated any of this from another player?

No one player is bigger than the club. I don't give a f*ck.If Ronaldo decides to go then we'll rebuild, I'd be disappointed but don't forget we won trophies before him and we will when he's gone too.SAF is pissed cos the team is built around CR7 and it'll take a while to rebuild so rather that he's trying to hold on to him, but if CR7 is ramping then show him the exit door like it's nothing.Club >>>>>>>> Any one inidividual player. If he don't want to show loyalty then show him what time it is.
