nah there was dark beats b4 so solid from guys like masterstepz (lol but true), el b, groove chronicals, zed bias, wookie, sticky, jameson and more names i dont remember and them 1 hit white label wondersI would say they are one of the people who set a way for grime sound but the grime sound for me was invented by guys like, wiley/dizzee/slimzee/geenus/target/danny weed/maxwell d/ gods giftthey came up with a whole new distinctive sound to the way they spat on the beat to the sounds they used u would never get so solid using the sounds like what dizzee was using in ho
I meant on the spitting side of things. If So Solid were still about when the name Grime was popping off, them man would be classed as Grime.

No one else in Grime was doing anything like Dizzee hence him becoming a big success so thats invalid. To me it was progression, those who came after followed their predeccessors. Granted them man came with something different to the table but man werent spitting like So Solid before So Solid.

Armand Van Helden was making 8 bar riddims at 140bpm when RIP Groove came out. Track entitled "C.U.M" on the b side of some sh*t disco tune called Boogie Monster was straight up 8 bar grime. Stop reaching for straws just because people were making dark garage, doesn't mean they were the pioneers of Grime music. So Solid are the pioneers of : DIY beats, pushing the BPM up past 130 (along with EZ as a DJ), spitting bars which reflected UK culture at the time. That is what Grime is.

21 seconds.forward riddim was a collection of mc's not a crew who work together outside of that tune.

21 seconds, there weren't really much representation for this type of music when the vid dropped so the hype around it was massive, when i first saw 4ward i weren't that bothered for some reason. i think coz every man and his dog was putting up sh*t vids on channel u. plus when i saw it on the telly the massive kick drum used to distort on my telly, and sounded like the pulse x sound, so when i bought it on vinyl i was dissapointed.
