Arsene Wenger will wait until the end of December before deciding whether he will go shopping when the transfer window opens again in January. The Frenchman insists he has an open mind about potential new arrivals, although Saturday's win against Manchester United proved to the manager that he already possesses a squad of sufficent depth."It's far from decided," said Wenger. "We will make a check at the end of December and we will see. We have had many players out and showed we have a great squad that can win the big games."
I've already said he might pick up a or a couple of no names, and then argue that Eduardo & Rosicky are like new major signings...

Utter bullshit.. but De Rossi would be the exact sort of player we need.Arsenal target proven stars Vincenzo Iaquinta and Daniele De Rossi in JanuaryBy Steve Stammers, sundaymirror.co.uk 9/11/2008http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/2008/11/0 ... -20881410/Arsenal have adopted a new scouting policy as manager Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his squad when the transfer window opens in January.Rather than concentrate on emerging young talent, Wenger wants to bring in men who are proven at the highest level. On his current list of targets are Juventus striker Vincenzo Iaquinta and Roma midfield player Daniele De Rossi. Iaquinta will be 29 this month and is an Italian international. De Rossi is also a member of the Azzurri squad and though still only 25, has won more than 30 caps.Though not a prolific scorer, Iaquinta has shown he can compete with the best and would be an ideal addition to the Arsenal strike force.Wenger would have noted that De Rossi was outstanding against Chelsea in Roma's 3-1 win in the Champions League last Tuesday. His problem is that both clubs are still involved in the Champions League and will be reluctant to let prize assets leave while they still have the chance of European glory. But Wenger is determined to revive a season that promised so much and he has been assured that funds will be available.

Smh at Veloso going for 25m.Besides cant see him moving in January as for Arsenal or Man Utd he'll be CL cup-tied, and for Man City & Tottenham, Sporting have already qualified for the next stages of Champions League, he's be foolish to give that up even for the silly money they throw around.

Gunners linked with Lenny moveBy Francisco Acedo http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, ... 64,00.htmlArsenal are understood to be interested in Brazilian striker Lenny and could push through a deal in the New Year. The highly-rated 20-year-old joined Palmeiras from Fluminense in January but his contract expires next month and he could leave on a free transfer. He has made just 12 appearances for Palmeiras and has yet to score but it seems he has done enough to impress Arsene Wenger.Reports suggest that Arsenal have already agreed a pre-contract with Lenny and faxed Palmeiras to make them aware of the situation. Lenny is expected to be sent on loan to Arsenal's Spanish partners Salamanca for the second half of this season. Carlos Vela spent the 2006/07 campaign at Salamanca and Brazilian starlet Pedro Botelho is currently with the Segunda Division side.
