Arsenal’s long-term injured are getting closer and closer to a return. At his Friday press conference, Arsène Wenger confirmed that Eduardo will be back in full contact training soon and is “two to three weeks” from playing properly. After that, it will be only match-fitness that holds him back from a proper first-team return. The Croatian striker has not played since breaking his leg at Birmingham on February 23.“Eduardo is close to coming back into full training so he should start to play in two to three weeks maybe,” said WengerGod will I be glad when gets back.
At least him returning soon is something to bring us smiles (well some of us)."The coolest finish around"

tbh he hasn't scored much in the league (played on the wing and been sub etc) but the goals he has scored are first class, the two goals against everton and that goal against man city for instance.

Like somebody said...Eduardo seems to have improved sooooooooooo much during his injury its unbelievable. That said anything to motivate van Persie & Adebayor to fear losing their place, cos Bendtner obviously aint worrying them whatsoever...
I can understand plp's excitement despite him not getting a chance to fully adapt at Arsenal..10 goals in 12 games for Croatia last season12 goals & 8 assists in 22 games for Arsenal, 7 of which were sub appsExcellent player. Would have made a difference this season had he been fit.

EDUARDO has been pencilled in for his comeback in a private friendly next week. The Croatian striker has not played since a horror tackle by Birmingham’s Martin Taylor in February left him with a double compound fracture of his left leg.Eduardo, 25, was scheduled to turn out for the reserves against Tottenham on December 1 but that has been cancelled as it clashes with the Carling Cup tie at Burnley. He will play for the reserves against Portsmouth on December 16 but the private friendly will be his first physical contact since returning to training 11 days ago.But Czech midfielder Tomas Rosicky is a long way from a comeback. His agent, brother Jiri Rosicky, said: “I haven’t a clue when he is going to play again. I just don’t know.”

Eduardo da Silva stepped up his rehabilitation from a fractured fibula and a dislocated ankle on Wednesday, as the Croatian striker featured for an Arsenal XI against Nottingham Forest, in a behind closed doors friendly. The encounter was arranged due to the gap in fixtures which both second string sides suffer during November, but it also presented Arsène Wenger will an opportunity to give the 25-year-old some vital minutes in his bid for fitness. Forest have a strong relationship with the Gunners, after Liam Brady sent Abu Ogogo, Paul Rodgers and James Dunne to the City Ground for trials last month, with the latter being snapped up.James Dunne is only on loan for the time being, meaning he did not get the opportunity to line up against Arsenal. The team had a strong Carling Cup feel too it, with the likes of Kieran Gibbs, Mark Randall and Gavin Hoyte all being involved. Banfield’s boys ran out 2-0 winners, as Jay Simpson continued his run of form with a well taken brace.‘Dudu’ reportedly came through unscathed, and will now step up his training with the first team as he edges closer to a first team return. However, after Simpson’s strikes in the Cup and now against Forest, competition will be as hot as ever.
