Black boys need to stop livin up to the stereotype. This "My dad wasnt around when i was growing up therefore I now have a stink attitude and will shank any man" mindset is bullshit. Too fast to blame others when things dont turn out in their favour, eg "They wont give man a job cos he's black"....yeah but you did go in there in your tracksuit and road speak didnt you?"Man has to hustle on the street to make P's".... P's for what? your 15 you dont need P's. Go college, learn something and claim your EMA.
who goes to a job interview in a tracksuit>? I dun know you was making this sh*t up as you go along... furthermore who wears tracksuits?. your post is not serious, holds no weight at allcourse da ute needs p, you aint in his household how can u tell him otherwise. u think money grows on trees? £30 aint saying nuttinyou have no idea what your talking bout, no idea.
I cant do the colours. So I'll do it in chunks lol.Moretime they dont even make it to interview stage. Plenty of times Ive seen kids (boys and girls) goin into retail shops in a group in their tracksuits, sportswear whatever handing out their CVs thinkin that will land them a job. First impressions and all that.Maybe the kids you know need the money to support their household or somethin more important but im refferin to the ones who claim they need the money for the unimportant things such as kicks, phones whatever.I dont claim to know exactly whats goin on in the streets, because I dont- i doubt there are many people that actually do. My intial post was purely from what Ive seen or been told (by the exact people this topic is discussing... I thought i stated that somewhere but must have forgot). Maybe they are the extreme cases I dont know.

Tis an open discussion thread. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Fair doos if you dont like my opinion but theres no need to be immature.
And this is the problem with 01 and beyond; everyone thinks they have the right to talk. Sometimes people need to "know your role and shut ya damn mouf"

But KoKaine surely your experiences cant be exactly the same as everyone else?Sameway as my views (from witnessing/ being told etc) cant be the same. Maybe thats where the wires got crossed.(Does that make sense? I know what I mean but when I read it i dunno if it comes across properly)

It don't make sensebut basically whats gonna be more factual, an article by a journalist about the s.a.s. from what hes seen/heardor an article written by a member of the s.a.s.p.s. I mean s.a.s. army people, not dem neeks

What you've been through first hand is quite likely to be different to what someone else has experienced first hand. What ive witnessed and been told (i dunno if i can refer to it as this but i will anyway) second hand would be quite likely to be experienced differntley by someone else second hand.I would probably read both tbh, to see it from both viewpoints

some of this is correct but delivered with the most disparaging and myopic tone ever.

You keep talking bout witnessing, what have you seen?any joe bloggs can say hes seen blah blah blah, dat dont mean sh*t.
From doin youth work, talkin to younger family members and their friends etc. Livin on council estates. Just talkin to those involved in stuff and tryin to understand how they got there, what they think could be done to change the situation or what caused the situation etc. Nothin majorLol, I had to Google those words Rueben. I see what you mean but it was just my opinion, maybe not with the best choice of words to suit all but still.

theres no such thing as an own role modelwho the hell are you God?some ppl on here go church too much
i dont see the link between me calling myself my own role model and God. When i say i am my own role model i mean i do not look up to no one to know that i have to succeed in life. My father is absent and i didnt live with my brother , so who else could be seen as a role model to me. I didnt apply to uni because someone inspired me to go , i dont want to be an investment banker because someone is showing me that that's a good career to follow, i do these things beacause i have the sense to believe that they would be very useful in me becoming successful in life. To the people that said that me being my own role model is bull sh*t , i ask, who are your role models, because i can honestly say i have none.

all this role model talk is bullshit. we know the problemross kemp knows the problemeveryone knows the problem its not black boys...its jamaicanssend them back, send them to the army, send them down and throw away the key, problem solved. they have very little family values and that is where your first role models should be ... AT HOME so all this role model talk is bullshit. like say its obama or martin luther king who asked me to go school or get a job.
LMAOI almost choked on my cereal reading this.In regards to the topic, it is a shame that an organisation has to be created in order to provide role models. There should be people that just want to make something of their life in the best way possible that doesn't cause problems. If we had more people with this mentality instead of the stupid black boys who are too short sighted to see that their pride and street rep will be their downfall, maybe blacks will not be so stereotyped and patronised.

I c/s this post to the fullest and i have thought this from day, its nice to know that there individulas who think this way. What i'm trying to say is why should anyone need a role model to inspire them to do better things, who wants to be a loser in society ?does it have to take someone else to tell you dont get involved in the road hype, concentrate on your education so that you will increase your chances of having a better lifestyle. Anyone with sense should realise this for themselves.

Also, everyone needs role models. There is always someone you aspire to be like. Whether or not you pursue that ideal later in life is up top you but I do believe it is important. If the guys in here had kids, especially in today's society, I would assume you would want to be the best influence on them you can be. You don't want them aspiring to be some random shotter on the block when you are working hard to give them a good life.

social conditions don't arise in a vacuumit is true that someone hoping to land a job shouldn't be going to the interview in a tracksuit and using inappropriate language/ / inappropriate mode of communication it is true 15 yr olds shouldn't be concerned with ' making p ' they should be thinking about education, what they want outta life and the bestpossible ways to get itbut you gotta look at the reasons why a certain section of the population behaves this why and holds these opinions whole groups of ppl don't just wake up and decide to act in ways that are essential self destructive all on the their own.

actually, black women need to stop looking at black boys like they are some nex human beings.you lot are half the reason they turn out that way. u open ur legs all round the gaff having kids with wastemen u knew were waste if u had any common sense. yet u still f*cked him so u can get a house and yard. then u completely disconnect the boy from his dad and fill his head with crap about his father being a wastemanu then rely on govt to raise the kid with you, u lose control and he falls by the wayside.then on the otherside u have black women acting like they are so successful, when their success is due to the fact that the system operates a divide and rule policy so as to guise racism they make it easier for black women to get ahead in certain fields over black men. i even know of one case just like this where this guy was more than qualified for the supervisor post, and kept being overlooked..they bring in asian and black women above him so he had a very difficult case to prove its racism. eventually the women realised that he was just being discriminated against and backed him up. i think he went for like 9 interviews for supervisor role and each time he lost to a black woman or asian. BUT they woudl then ask him to train them :lol:ur there shacking up to a white breh talking down black boys smh
