Got a trip to NY with the family after. Haven't had a family holiday in about 6/7 years. Should be good despite the fact that they won't want to indulge in my interests. I've already done the touristy stuff before and I just wanna shop (like f*ck*ng mad), meaning we probably won't be spending a lot of time together.

Flying to San Fran next Sunday on business, my longest flight before this is about 4 1/2 hours - absolutely no idea how I am going to take 12 hours on a plane especially as my ears can't take the pressure on descent.

Anyone got any ideas how I can survive the flight there and back? The Valsalva maneuver doesn't really work for me, I was flying yesterday and I was chewing/swallowing/yawning for about an hour before the descent but it didn't do anything

Looking online I am going to try earplane plugs and a decongestant tablet beforehand, anyone had any joy with these?
