They send you a replacement card overseas immediately.

I took 75%card and 25% cash (just for that reason)

Think it was Halifax best for no conversion fee n like 1% interest if I remember

Made a topic on this a few months back

But long story short metro bank

0% 0 fees

/

Im a cash guy too but hate having random bits if foreign cash

Got a draw full of foreign currency which i have no idea the value of

Just easier now to take a card and make small atm withdrawals

Always leave my uk card in the hotel safe with my passport, keep driving license and metro card on me

they might slyly add on to the exchange rate their given tho

'load fees'

When using a debit card abroad, loading and cash withdrawal fees typically add around £3 per £100 of spending.

But a specialist credit card, which unlike most cards, doesn't add a 3% load fee to the exchange rate, is always the cheapest way to spend abroad.

If you're travelling in Europe, the Metro Bank debit card that comes with its current account is still a good option. But if you're likely to go further, you might want to consider a credit card instead.

Our top pick is the Halifax Clarity*. It has no foreign exchange fee anywhere worldwide (you can use our pre-application eligibility checker for this card), meaning you get the best rate possible.

yh that and google flights is sick, how long you going for and how bigs the car... ?

had 5 man in a big 8 seater for like a 11 hour journey including an overnight stop and that was just about bearable on straight US roads.

if you widened your journey back through eastern europe you would probably hit some of the best cities in europe for pusssy

During bank Holiday weekend taking Donny to Munich then will be driving down to the Dolomites in the north of Italy, do some hiking, stay there a couple of nights then drive down to Zurich

Taking your mum places >

I am at the stage of my life where I can start giving back to my parents, its a nice feeling...
