I have just watched an episode of Natalie cassidy's real britain on BBC 3 and it was focused on a 21 year old guy who has down syndrome, basically he is looking for a Gf but has no luck what so ever, even his female friend who has downs blocked him off completely when he suggested they go on a romantic date. ( she was really cold how she shattered his hopes, was kinda amusing and unexpected for her to come out with such cold words )http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00j8gb5The programme follows him on nights out clubbing with his friends, he has great confidence but yet no girl really takes him seriously, they in a way pity him and feel sorry for him and he just really wants to experience sex as he makes it clear throughout the programme.So my question is, would you be able to take someone with downs seriously if they were attracted to you and wanted to date you etc ?Also in the programme, it showed three people who claim themselves to be ASEXUAL, they find sex repulsive and want to be with someone emotionally and find love but not get physically intimate with them ?one girl wrote a list of how many people she had slept with, came to about 9 and now she just hates sex, one guy had sex only once and its put him off for life and the third person was a girl who is virgin who just has a phobia of getting intimate with someone but then meets some guy off an ASEXUAL website who she has been communicating with for 6 months so they can discuss being Asexual as its rare to find other asexual people.So my second question is, Could you be with someone in a serious long term relationship but know that sleeping with them is not going to happen at all ?

ye your right the first question is probably silly but watching the programme made me think how hard it must be with someone with downs to find lust and love etc they just seem to get rejected all the time but if you watch the programme, you will see how eager and confident he isi just felt sorry for the dude, his mother is even trying to help him find sex etc it wouldnt surprise me if she ends up hiring an escort for him or something.

downs people need love toi just feel sorry for that guy, all he wants to do is to experience what near enough every man his age has, which is sex but no girl will take him seriously, even the his female friend with downs rejected him. I just think it must be very hard for him.i rate his confidence though because you dont see many downs people in clubs etc but he doesnt care, he sees himself as normal as everyone else.but like p brisco said, he will only probably get that chance with someone who is disabled but then again his female friend rejected his advances, so maybe his downs game is not up to scratch yet.Call me an emotional cow, but watching that documentary made me realise how lucky the majority of us are.

i may just do that in the future, i dont discriminate .nah but seriously i just feel sorry for people with disabilities as such who find it difficult to interact with the opposite of sex,watching the documentary just made me feel a bit sad, yes call it pathectic if you wish.i dont put men in the friend zone either.
