Wigan chairman Dave Whelan insists he would never bring in an overseas manager to take charge of team affairs at the JJB Stadium.Whelan, who also claimed current Latics boss Steve Bruce is 'too good' for the England job, believes home-grown talent should always be encouraged.Wigan tackle Everton in the Premier League on Sunday with both clubs in contention for a European place and Whelan is full of praise for his boss Bruce and the Toffees' Scottish manager David Moyes."I don't just think British managers are the equals of their foreign counterparts, they are better - and what Steve and David are doing for their clubs proves that," Whelan told the Sunday Mirror."Then there's Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United and Martin O'Neill at Aston Villa."We've got the best managers in the world here - English, Welsh, Irish and Scots."I'd never entertain a foreign manager for Wigan and I don't think it's right that England have a foreign manager either."We're the home of football. I can't believe that we need foreign managers"I wouldn't go anywhere near one because I don't accept you must go abroad for your boss."Steve Bruce is too good for England - I am deadly serious."
No disrespect if your grandad actually isn't alive anelka.

good stance to take tbh at club level.but interms of international he's talking out of turn.Harry was the only homegrown manager that could manage England.and he hasn't even won that much.plus coming from the McClaren regime we needed a fresh new perspective.we had to go foreign, just because there was no-one homegrown with the right credentials.would love to see an english manager in charge in the future mind.
