A police force is urging members of the public to report anyone wearing a suspiciously large amount of 'bling' during the recession. Police force cracks down on 'bling' Enlarge photo More photos: Crime The Gloucestershire Constabulary hopes to weed out criminals who enjoy flaunting their ill-gotten gains.Chief Constable Dr Timothy Brain said: "In the current time of financial uncertainty, those who live a lavish lifestyle with no discernible, legitimate income become even more apparent."He hopes the Too Much Bling campaign, run in partnership with Crimestoppers, will send a clear message to criminals, that their prized possessions will be confiscated."There are certain members of the criminal fraternity for whom a prison sentence or some other form of court punishment is not a sufficient deterrent," he said."Many criminals, including drug dealers and burglars, prize the trappings they have gained far more than their own liberty and, having no need to get a legitimate job, are unconcerned by the impact a criminal record will have on their career prospects."In addition to those wearing ostentatious jewellery, people are also being asked to tell police about anyone driving suspiciously flashy cars or buying other expensive items.Adrian Foster, from the Gloucestershire Crown Prosecution Service, said: "With the evidence that comes from good intelligence, we are able to restrain all of an individual's cash and bank accounts, their home, vehicles, electrical items and jewellery."Then following a successful prosecution we are able to take back the proceeds that they have accumulated from the last six years of crime."

lol@doing this. May as well start up the 'Grass Roots Grass' campaign where members of inner city communities are encouraged to inform on their neighbours cos they look 'a bit dodgy'How out of touch are the police? They know people don't like talking to them at all cos they don't feel as if the Police work for the good of the community. sh*t like this will always fail.
