No sound coming out

basically the PC speakers are producing no sound, they are plugged in correctly, the green light comes on indicating that they are working yet no sound is coming out of them ? they were working fine the other week but for the past week, no sound has been coming out,why is this happening ? does it just mean these speakers have had their day and i need ones ? or is there a way to fix this problem ?would appreciate any help. cheers

I had something like this happen not long ago, muisc just cut out mid song and I had no sound working since thenI had toclick start>run>type in services.msc.>press okin the pop up scroll down to 'windows audio'double click on itmake sure 'start up type' is set to 'automatic' and make sure under service status 'start' is clicked as wellif not then select them, press apply & ok and then test it
