Wenger: Eduardo expected back in two monthsAuthor: Andrew AllenPosted on: 22 July 2009 - 12:07Category: Football Comments: 2 Go...Arsene Wenger has revealed that Croatian striker Eduardo da Silva will not return to first team action for two more months and will continue his rehabilitation and fitness work alongside newly injured Samir Nasri back in England. The hitman, who suffered a horrific leg break in February 2008, returned to first team action in the second half of last term but underwent routine 'revision' surgery in May.Coach Wenger revealed the update on Eduardo’s situation while speaking to Arsenal's official website about the leg break suffered by his French international midfielder:“Accidently he [Nasri] nicked the ball away from somebody who was just having a shot on goal. Unfortunately he got kicked and got a broken fibula. Not a complicated one but it will take six weeks to heal.Asked about options to replace Nasri in the midfield, Wenger continued, “The two options are Tomas Rosicky, and we’ll have Eduardo back in two months but you do not want to lose important players before the season starts.”

From Arsenal website

“But the options are Tomas Rosicky who is back. And in [those] two months Eduardo will be back as well. We do have offensive options but we don’t want to lose important players before the season starts.”
Means Eduardo will be back soon. Not that he is out for 2 months.

Eduardo is set to make his pre-season bow on Monday at Szombathelyi Haladas. In past few days rumours have started circulating that the Croatian striker had picked up an injury that would keep him sidelined for a couple of months. This is not the case and today’s Austrian News Bulletin will carry footage of the 26-year-old hard in training on Wednesday afternoon.“Eduardo should play on Monday,” confirmed Arsène Wenger after the 7-1 win at SC Columbia earlier this week.
