Arsenal is delighted to announce that after an extensive recruitment process, it has filled three senior executive positions at the Club, with the appointment of a new Chief Commercial Officer, General Counsel and Head of People and Operations.Vastly experienced professionals in their respective disciplines, Tom Fox (Chief Commercial Officer), Svenja Geissmar (General Counsel) and Trevor Saving (Head of People and Operations) will all be joining Arsenal’s Senior Management Team by the end of September.New Chief Commercial Officer Tom Fox has over 20 years’ experience building leadership teams and creating marketing and branding campaigns for some of the world’s most recognised and respected global brands.Fox started his career at former Gatorade parent company Quaker Oats in 1985 in its brand management programme and moved into Gatorade’s sports marketing department in 1988.In 1993, Fox joined The National Basketball Association (NBA) to become director of sponsor programs for NBA Properties, before moving to Hong Kong in 1995 to become vice president and managing director of NBA Asia.Following his successful period at the NBA, Fox moved to Nike, Inc in February 1997 to run the company’s Asian sports marketing business before progressing to Nike’s U.S. operations as sports marketing director.Fox returned to Gatorade in 1999 as senior vice president, sports marketing, where he continued to spend eight successful years before moving to a consulting position at Wasserman Media Group (WMG) in April 2007. Fox spent over two years at WMG – a global sports and entertainment marketing company – where he reported directly to owner Casey Wasserman, working on the company’s strategic partnerships and growth opportunities.Fox heads up Arsenal’s commercial operation following the departure of Commercial Director Adrian Ford in early August.Svenja Geissmar joins Arsenal Football Club as General Counsel and brings with her extensive and high level experience, having previously worked at MTV Networks Europe (MTVNE) for over 11 years, progressing to Senior Vice President, Corporate Business Affairs and General Counsel.Geissmar joined MTVNE in 1995 and was promoted to General Counsel in 1997- a role on the Senior Management Board of MTVNE reporting directly to the CEO, where she provided objective and high quality strategic legal and commercial input to all aspects of managing the MTVNE business across Europe. In addition to her role as General Counsel, Svenja initiated, developed and headed up the Corporate Social Responsibility profile and activities for MTVNE.Since 2006, Svenja has built a successful business operating as a legal consultant, providing commercially focused legal and business affairs advice to a wide variety of high profile international media clients. Geissmar becomes Arsenal’s first-ever in-house lawyer.Trevor Saving, Arsenal’s new Head of People and Operations has a wealth of experience in human resource and operational excellence, holding senior management positions at his previous companies which include one of the world’s leading insurance brokers and risk management advisors, Marsh & McLennan.During his career Saving has coordinated global HR functions and organisational strategy for Pepsi Co, Revlon, Levi Strauss and Dunlop International Ltd.Lifelong Arsenal supporter Saving, will head up Arsenal’s new Human Resources function, as well as overseeing the Club’s day-to-day operations, developing operational systems to maximise the level of efficiency.All three will report into Chief Executive Officer, Ivan Gazidis, who himself joined Arsenal in January 2009 from his previous position as Deputy Commissioner for Major League Soccer in the USA.Gazidis said: “We are absolutely delighted to be welcoming three professionals of the calibre of Tom, Svenja and Trevor to Arsenal Football Club. They are all hugely experienced and successful in their respective fields and will each add a vast amount of skill and expertise to our overall operation.“The collective business acumen of our three new appointments will be a huge asset to Arsenal Football Club and is just another sign of our ambition for the forthcoming years.”Fox officially starts his new role with Arsenal on 24th August, Geissmar begins on 21st September, with Saving having started with the Club on 3rd August.Executive search consulting firm Spencer Stuart assisted Arsenal in the recruitment process
