That was very confusing, I refuse to believe that Liverpool who were going into their first Champions League season in years and were about to lose their main striker only identified two striking options (Alexis & Lambert)

I might have got the timeline wrong but I'm pretty sure Liverpool knew they had lost out on Alexis when they went for Remy.

I don't think the Remy deal fell through because of Rodgers. Infact Remy was probably Rodgers choice. However in these combined transfer committee things, where Rodgers slipped is he needed to keep finding alternatives to Balotelli who did fit the profile.
