I've been to both Dominican Republic & Brazil. In terms of demographics, in both countries the "black" people you see there look much more mixed than the average non light skin african or carribean, they have curly hair, more mixed looking features etc. despite skin colour. The majority of people i saw in both places looked latino or mixed race mixed race i.e eduardo ,denilson / gilberto silva. In general people seemed respect me more in brazil , partricularly because it was obvious that i was a foreigner & had money. So dont be put off going to Brazil because I didnt recieve any racism , more curiosity. On the other hand , I found Dominican Republic to be much more racist. I experienced indirect racism from alot of people who were light skin or lighter than me & was treated with suspicion rather than curiosity. But still f*ck it, reach if u want , as i didnt recieve any phsyical abuse, most was subtle because they still slyly have respect for "rich" foreigners. I think blacks have it better in brazil. Particularly because of drs conflict with haiti the blacks have 1 next inferiority complex.
