Arsène Wenger is expecting to welcome back Andrey Arshavin for the trip to Fulham at the weekend. The Russian has missed the last couple of games with a groin problem but should be available for the Craven Cottage clash.Manuel Almunia is still out with a chest infection so Vito Mannone or Wojciech Szczesny will take the gloves. Robin van Persie faces a late fitness test but should be OK.“We have had Arshavin out [since the international break] and we had a problem with Van Persie during the week,” said Wenger. “But Arshavin should be back and Van Persie should be all right too. We have a test tomorrow with him.“Almunia is still short, still a week away. Normally Mannone [would deputise] but we are 48 hours away from the game.”
Theo Walcott is back in training and back in the first-team frame – but he may not be risked this weekend. The England star has been conspicuous by his absence this season after hurting his back during Arsenal’s pre-season friendly at Valencia on August 8. Walcott managed just 45 minutes in that game – his only club action all summer – and has not played since. But the 20-year-old appears to have turned the corner and could even feature at Fulham this weekend. “Walcott is now back in normal training,” revealed Arsène Wenger at his pre-match press conference. “He has only played 45 minutes since June so he lacks a little bit of competition. He was short for the West Brom game [on Tuesday] but he's available again. He needs match practice.“I don't know [if he could figure this weekend] He is still a bit short because it's the week he's back to full, normal training. But the good news is that he's available again.”

Dunno. Fulham seem very inconsistent atm and due a performance against us.I think if we give away the first goal, we aint getting 3 points.Plus last season after the Carling cup games, despite the rest, the first teamers seemed to lack focus and drop points, come like while Wenger was working with the youngers they didnt have enough time to prepare or just got complacent.
