Cross Platform External Hardriving yaaaoowww

Basically, I got a macbook pro myselfAnd I have bought this external drive, that I clearly need to format for writable use on my mac.But the problem I will have is that sometimes I might have to use the windows systems at uni. If my hard drive is formatted to mac hard drive type then It wont show up on the windows systems.Apparently there is a program you can get to allow windows to see the mac drives. but I will not be able to install this program on every PC I use.Anybody have any solutions because google, is giving me some hardcore information overload.

Format the drive as FAT32.Would work in both. Only issue you won't be able to save a file with a file size in excess of 4GB.

Ahhh I see Is FAT32 as unstable as they saybecause Work Loss would be emosh

one of my hardrives is FAT32 for the same reason u need it, used it a couple years, no problem

Here's the plan.My home external, will be strictly for mac, Will back up everything on there.The portable one will be FAT32 so in case of needing to use it on a windows PC, I can.But for stability and a third back up, will be on the strictly mac externalyaayah ok this can be locked now guys thanks
