making a joke out of irish and making a joke of islam is completely different.

Islam is our beliefs and something we consider sacred.

Irish is a nationality. If the jokes were towards the people of a country which is a muslim majority u wouldnt get a big backlash as if u would make a joke against the religion as a whole, same way theres a difference between making a joke towards say nigeria and black people as a whole.

1.5 million algerians were killed by the french, this is about colonising a country as the british did to the irish, aint about religion, the persecution of irish and muslims cant be compared.

and the irish were constantly treated as 2nd class citizens when they were forced to leave their homeland and live in the US and UK

of course it is comparable it is no different, you are just being ignorant

the irish were working on plantations before africans and had to endure worse conditions because they were cheaper slave

but again this part of history goes unnoticed because they are white and the irish have now managed to assimilate into every day society, after a few hundred years of intense persecution

irish catholics have been persecuted for as long as muslims, yet we still take the jokes, you are fighting a loosing battle and need to get a sense of humour TBH
