Representatives for singer Bobby Brown have confirmed that he is still alive, despite recent media reports suggesting his death.

According to Extra, rumours of the singer's passing, mostly from Twitter, triggered multiple false claims.

It is not yet known where the claim originated, but the 41-year-old joins the list of other celebrities whose mistaken demises were reported on the Internet, including Johnny Depp, Justin Bieber and Britney Spears.

The former New Edition singer recently began to mount a comeback with the other members of his original group.
