Offical ebay/ paypal dons

2 phones were sold on an ebay account a while ago, been a month now, both buyers left positive feedback aswell

one phone has been blocked, now the persons opened a dispute etc..

the other one hasnt been blocked but most likely will be soon, (i had no idea that this was going to happen)

what steps do i take to make sure i dont lose out becuase for all i know they could have blacklisted the phones themselves, just wanting a quick refund

would paypal not ask for evidence of them saying this though?

I once got out of a gripe on ebay when I sold some tickets, didn't sell for what I wanted and I forgot to put a reserve and in the end I didn't send the guy the tickets.

He didn't do a dispute on paypal but threatened to take me to court. I told him I had emigrated to Barbados and if he wanted to foot the bill for court fees he was more than welcome. Never heard from the guy again and somehow the negative feedback was retracted

Usually in cases like this paypal always sides with the buyer, no matter what.

A neighbour used to work for them and from everything he told me, plus my own personal experience, Paypal is a swindlers haven, imo.

He said moretime paypal are just looking to close cases asap and will rule in favour of the buyer 9.9 times out of 10, reversing any funds the buyer claims they are owed back into their paypal account without even so much as asking what really happened. Thats why alot of sellers have stopped using paypal and use bank transfer as a main payment option as its less fuss and harder for the buyer to try a ting.

When I was in uni I set up a web store and at first I was using paypal as a payment method, but then I decided to stop using paypal as the time it takes for them to clear funds into your bank accounts was long for me (I wanted something more instantaneous than waiting 5-7 days) and just before I switched to Nochex a customer had made some purchases through paypal for some specialist construction tools costing around £400. So, I accepted the payment and a few days later, that being my last paypal transaction, I closed the account after the funds had cleared into my bank account. I sent off the tools and all was well.

Next thing I know this customer emails to say he didnt get the tools, then he try call up paypal customer service to say he never received their goods and they want their payment reversed. I had all required documents, PROOF OF POSTAGE, recorded delivery (standard in these kinda transactions) everything. Didnt matter though. Paypal STILL tried to reimburse him! I was way ahead of them though and from when I saw his first email I contacted my bank account and made them aware of the situation, instructed them nothing was to go out of my account without my say so and to sever any remaining ties to paypal from here on out.

Luckily for me that was the end of it, but that guy is just one of the many cunts out there who know the paypal system and will try to use it to their advantage at YOUR expense. All their policies are filled with loopholes that ensure they can deny your claim, always finding in favour of the buyer every time, no matter WHAT.

Trust.

As far as I know, unless the buyers can prove that it was your fault the phones got blocked (e.g previously stolen/lost & claimed on insurance etc) & not theirs, AND they have left positive feedback, you should be fine

Tbh Im surprised they can still open a dispute after a month..

Lol at selling/thinking of selling hot phones on your ebay though

ur dumb. should of cex'd the phones, no come backs. as people have said, u seem to lack sense in whatever ur doing.

ebay always leaves a trail, they can open a dispute up whenever they want, however paypal only protects them for up to 180 days i think.

i bet you didnt even write down the phone IMEI's..

you have to register with cex with id . . . so of course theres a come back, a better answer would be to list on gumtree or to sell to the local phone shop man who sends them abroad

however on ebay u obviously get better prices

the imeis are all on the reciepts my friend

please note this thread asked for "OFFICAL ebay/paypal dons"

The dude who posted the long story: that's good that your bank even listened to you Halifax told me it was my own fault and that as I had previously entered into an agreement with PayPal they are allowed to take money out of my account!!!!!!!!!! I was so mad I wanted to cry it still riles me up to this day!!!
