Cracking band, good lookin out Jubez. Totally agree about 'Boyfriend', great opening track.

One of my highlights of Primavera this year, and the gig in Glasgow was even better. Well worth seeing if you get the chance

Here's the singles they've put out over the last year. None of these are on the album, except When I'm With You, but the b-sides are all pretty great too:

When I'm With You/This Is Real - Black Iris 7"

To round things off

Where The Boys Are 7"

Downloaded alot of this stuff after listening to the album, earlier stuff sounds more Vivian Girls, Art Fag/Black Iris are probs the best no? Is it me or is ditching fuzzy reverb the musical equiv. of avoiding the shark?

Could be onto something there, Jubez. She definitely found her own lane more after Where The Boys Are, I kinda see that as a transitional thing between Pocahaunted (her old band, pretty experimental stuff), and the much poppier stuff with Best Coast. I reckon it should have came out under a different name, cause it does kinda stick out like a sore thumb in the Best Coast catalogue (IMO) as having remnants of her old band on it. Still like it, but if I was gonna sit down and make a Best Coast playlist, I probably wouldn't put anything from that on it. I'd prefer to listen to it on it's own.

Not sure if I'm making too much sense with that ramble, but you get the idea.

And yeah, My favourites out of the subsequent singles are probably the Black Iris and Art Fag ones as well.

BNM on Pitchfork today. 8.4. Album looks like it'll be pretty big, pick up the 7"s now if you get the chance, ebay prices will go up.
