are there tables where you could put in say £10-20 and not feel like you're being too over powered by people with alot more cash?

any info on the tournys..1 guy was tellin me he come 30th and won like a grand

Used to play on bet365.. Now play on fulltilt.

It's just standard poker, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose on gash. The works.

Thread is lul worthy.

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but online poker is tougher than it's ever been, and if anyone in here plays higher than 10nl (without at least 50,000 hands logged) then you'll get crushed.

It's like every profession, work hard and you'll reap the rewards. It's certainly not a game of luck. It's about risk management, balancing probabilities and decision making.

I am a winning (decent but nothing special) player.

Pokerstars is what I use when I play but I rarely play online due to bad beats. Catch me in Golden Nugget casino or Empire playing cash games all the time.

The games in the empire are £1/2 blinds. Your bankroll to play that kind of game really should be about 5k.

With the rake at the empire as as well, I'd be very surprised if you were profitable, unless you're in there for 18 hours a day. That said, live players are donks of the highest order.

im good at the 1p/2p cash games but when i start going in the 50p/£1 people will more cash just take advantage (when people raise £2 with a bluff, even if i have a decent hand, with £10 it's not worth the risk knowing on the turn there going to raise it even more).

i'm good at the sit & go's though..."head to head" or "1-Table"

Mate, if you buy in to a 100nl cash game with $10, everyone knows you're a fish, hence the huge raises.

The minimum buyin at 100nl ought to be 100bb thus $100.

Don't play 100nl unless your bankroll is at least

$1 x 100 = $100 x 40BI = $4000

If you never want to go broke that is.

yeh i know all that...it's just after doing well at the 1p/2p i think i could also do well at the higher stakes tables..but it just doesn't work like that lol...maximum buy in at the 1p/2p is $2 and by the time i leave iv ALWAYS atleast doubled my buy in and my cash goes up slowly but surely..then i get carried away and start going in the 25p/50p and end up losing..

so my plan is to stay in a 1p/2p, keep doubling my $2 untill iv got a decent amount to go up to a higher stakes table.

i get most of my cash from sit&go's though e.g $1.20 entry..1 table..top 3 get paid, winner gets $4 (eventhough you prob already knew that)

am i right in saying i should never go to a table if i can't afford the max buy in?

Look mate, by the sounds of it, you should not be playing above 2nl.

When you show me a decent sample size, we can move forth then. Play at 2nl.

I dont know what a sample size is... basically i'm decent player but when i move onto the higher stakes games i get over powered by people with a bigger stack.. whenever i buy in at the max buy in..i do well (profit)

Sitting down with £100-200 its easy to he profitable in both empire and golden Nugget. Catch me in GN moretime (you can ask the man on the forum thqt no me). I'm very confident in my ability as a player.

Everyone says that, then I ask them how to do a basic EV calculation and they're like WUT.

Ego is the worst thing in poker.

Just because you don't understand all the terms doesn't change the ability to know how to play certain hands/ read people.

i get what you're saying though, you can't say you're proper on the poker ting unless you know it inside out

But EV isn't "all" the terms. It's the most important concept to understand in poker.

Hear what you're saying about reading hands etc. But that is largely live donk manoeuvres.

Most players I meet who say they're good don't know how to put their opponent on a range.
