EMILE HESKEY has snubbed an amazing SOS call from England chief Fabio Capello for next week's Euro 2012 qualifier.Heskey was involved in talks with Capello last week about coming out of international retirement. The Aston Villa striker quit England after the World Cup in South Africa, but was tempted by the prospect of a one-off return for next week's clash with Montenegro.Capello made his move after watching Heskey score Aston Villa's 88th winner in the 2-1 victory at Wolves. The England coach, who will name his squad on Monday, wanted Heskey back in his squad for just one game.Heskey, 32, scored just seven times in 62 appearances for England before quitting after the World Cup.The striker was involved in discussions with England's management team this week about a surprise return to the squad, but has turned it down.Heskey feared a backlash if he returned for one game and then went back into retirement.Capello said: "I saw Heskey against Wolves and he played very well, he is in a good moment."The new manager Houllier knows him very well from his time at Liverpool. He will decide."Despite Capello's attempts to persuade the striker, he informed the England chief on Friday that he is unwilling to return. It means Capello will have to look elsewhere for Wayne Rooney's strike partner after the England chief decided to call him up.Rooney was not even on the bench for Manchester United's Premier League clash at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.Despite Rooney's omission with a genuine ankle problem, Capello will call him into the squad.Sir Alex Ferguson has given Rooney his blessing to be with England and believes it may even benefit the striker.Ferguson is convinced the injury is a legacy from the Champions League clash with Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in March. He advised Rooney to rest after the World Cup and it was Ferguson's intention to leave him out of United's opening games of the season. But Rooney was so angry with his performance at the World Cup he demanded to play in the Community Shield against Chelsea. He has since aggravated the injury and Ferguson is convinced that is the reason behind his poor start to the season.
