West Ham fear Jack Wilshere could miss the rest of the season with his latest ankle injury.

Plagued by injury for so much of his career, Wilshere has played just five minutes since September, when he had minor surgery on his left ankle. He then hurt his right ankle in training before the home win over Cardiff on December 4.

West Ham's medical staff hope a few weeks' rest will clear up the problem, but if that approach is not successful he faces further surgery and a period of many months on the sidelines, report The Sun.
