i doubt it most people are naive

knowin buys a house not knowing what the areas like. more than likely they will miss problems with the house but everyone knows wot area the are moving to.

its one thing perceiving a place to be "bad" and a totally different thing when you have hard facts saying 300 burglaries, 120 asbo, etc etc

Millions jam street-level crime map website

A new crime-mapping website for England and Wales is experiencing a "temporary problem" as millions of people log on every hour, the Home Office has said.

Hundreds have contacted the BBC website to report problems accessing the site as officials worked to fix the glitch.

The Home Office said www.police.uk was receiving up to five million hits an hour, or some 75,000 a minute.

The site allows you to see the offences reported in your local street by entering a street name or postcode.

Home Secretary Theresa May said the maps would give real facts on crime and anti-social behaviour and make police more accountable.

I somehow cannot fathom criminals from inner city London travelling 22.6 miles out of their residences to commit crime based on information on a government site. Most places with low crime stats tend to have houses with beefed up security and vice versa.
