Mardrid didnt really tryand attack though and they just seemed to be relying on Ronaldo to win them the match were as with Arsenal the pressure is spread around more but with Real game the media just built it up as Ronaldo vs Messi and it seems like the Real Madrid players bought it.Ideally then what would your formation be and what would you do if they score an early goal which could fully happen having to adjust to a system they never play and some probably cant play do you defend and sit back even more or just switch to attack straight away?I just would like to see more substance rater ten back and forths with TF saying ''your mums an SAS groupie'' ''your mum works for your dads porn company;; ;;you admitted to watcin strap on porn in the zorno thread etc'' its abit tedious and should be saved till after the match and during
TBH, you know this doesn't apply to me. 80% of my posts here are analytical, so don't attempt that sh*t with me.Now, when I mentioned that, even with their attacking ability, which is as good/better than ours (up for debate), they're still not as naive as I think we will be tonight. If you're using the last match as a reference, they DID try to attack (look at how high their defensive was) but Barcelona just contained them from the jump. Similar to last season's 2 games TBH, Madrid were actually dominating during certain periods of the game, but it left room behind them.Ideally, I'd start with a 4-3-3 instead of a 4-2-3-1, have Fabregas playing deeper & more defensive than he usually does, alongside Wilshere & Song as a straight holding midfielder. They play very narrow, limiting space in front of the backline, forcing Barcelona to play wide. Regardless of what anyone here thinks, they are ALL capable of doing that. Song, when instructed to do it, is capable. Fabregas in the CL 2005/2006 campaign operated as a deep-lying playmaker.RVP is crucial. He drops, plays as a false #9, not allowing Busquets to play & when we play on the counter, breaking on the flanks, moving the balls into channels for Nasri & Walcott. Essentially, it works more like a 4-4-2 diamond with the 2 'forwards' operating at wider levels. Kinda how Barcelona play infact. And even if they score, you carry on in a similar manner. It actually depends moreso on how easily Barcelona would hypothetically score. That would dictate how quick you'd change formations. And TBH, like it's been said repeatedly, at this level, Arsenal, hell, ANY coach should have a plan B. That's what it boils down to. You're suggesting a strategy, that's essentially still plan A & which hasn't worked & most probably not work tonight.
Yeah but you have got caught up in the hype in this thread was #justsayingSounds better when you put it that way rather then squeezing that into a line and saying bend over and just hope they use lube on usC/S the RVP floating around thing only problem is if you do have all 3 midfielder sitting deep as we see with Man City week in week out there is little creative park and the forwards go hungry plus when you do attack itl allow for Busquets to back off abit more and RVP could be isolated against 3 CBs basically and will just get frustrated and yeah Jack has been quality most of this season but that has been against lesser teams in a game of this magnitude he could go missing as most English players seem to.No Anelka but this is te sort of game were you need Gallas to organize the defense We all know how frail Cligy is when he has to cut down his attacking or is pressed back into his own halfWenger does hae plan b. j, z but he has built his legacy on playing attractive football and is renowned for it and has to much pride to go from moaning about everton and stoke etc playing negative week in week out to then doing it himself and im sure he will prefer to go out attacking as it can be his excuse for leaking goals rather then blaming the defenseI reckon need to play around Walcott as spanish teams dont face pace week in week out will take them time to adjust again have Jack and Song sit deep and ping balls between Abidal and Maxwell hope for the best
