Hacked Email account

Right fellas, need some advice here

my mum has had her email address hacked and spam email is being sent left right and centre from her email address using her name, advertising all sorts of your usual rubbish you receive into your spam inbox on a regular.

Ive told her to change her password and delete all her contacts and up her spam filter to high. What else can she do in order to stop this? Her email address is important as some of her bills and work stuff gets sent to it.

Check the settings and make sure it's not set to send autoreplies or forward emails etc.

Make sure there is no dodgy email address set as the alternative email address.

Could be a virus as well.

i wondered that too but seeing as she only uses her private email address at work (which has anti virus softwear on the pc) i wasnt completly sure. Im going to see about this auto fwding thing today from another pc and see if this has happened.
