Yeah, the BT guy told me about this when he was installing mine.

8-10 mb upload is more than enough, but 17?! It would take 2 mins to upload a 500 mb vid

It's all done online from their website, and it can take up to 3 days, supposedly. Not sure how long mine took, it can't have been more than 5 hours.

Just use the link i posted above. It's pretty self explanatory.

After you've done that, power off/on your modem + hub for about 20 seconds then do the a speed test. Repeat this process about every half hour until you've been upgraded

mine's getting done next week. was with 02 paying £18 a month, this upgrade is only £7 extra a month, can't really fault it tbh, i was getting 10mb with o2, and im expected to get 55-65mb with bt.

its been available at mine for a while, debating whether to get 40 or 80 cos its a new 18m contract if i go for that

Need a new supplier. The 1MByte/s max speed with Sky doesn't hack multiple users in this house.

Are there any fibre optic networks that don't suck you into a dirty 12/18 month contract?

Sky are on a piss taking mission lately. My speeds have dropped from 16mb to 7mb for the past 2 weeks. Keep telling them but they say they can't find a problem with the line. This Thunderstorm or themselves have f*cked sh*t up.

Says they estimate I can get 10 to 20mbit speeds yet they've given me a 10mbit setting.
