if you cant pay for a ticket then shutup, save for two weeks then buy one and you'll have some change.Whether the tickets are £45 or £60 there is going to be someone who'll pay it at the end of the day because we're Arsenal, the increase will more than leverage out the few who are going to abort going to Arsenal games. If you want to see the likes of cesc, theo, arshavin then you have to accept the club needs to make these increases.

I don't think those players mentioned are in the upper quartile of the wage structure at Arsenal.Anyway it's down to Wenger what players he keeps, blame the agents for inflated wages not increased ticket prices.I see where Arsenal fans are coming from.I've always said in 10-15 years time, football matches will be like going to the theatre, one of those events you see or go to once every 6 months. It won't cater for regular match goers unless you have a season ticket. My idea was, if you're going to put the match tickets up then increase your allocation of season tickets, priorise 70% of seats in the stadium for season ticket holders @ £2500 a pop (£105m per season). the final 30% increase ticket prices £80 for those who want to treat the game as a day out.

Yeh but apparently them man gonna put arsenal on the map worldwide *still waiting*
They can't until Arsenal's commercial deals expire in 2012...In the meantime & since as far back as 2009, we pay them annually more than certain Premier League clubs whole playing staff (Blackpool) :D for little reward in the now...

They will, but like I said 2012, and then its gonna be another 12-18 months before the club can start announcing said profits. In the meantime with little property left to sell, fan pressure to buy rather than sell first-teamers, and after reporting a half-yearly pre-tax loss of 2.5m and the hoped trophies/further progression in cups not following, the clubs have taken the decision to hit the fan now & get increased income there, until the commercial revenue is raised.Arsenal dont really wanna go Asia this summer as it serves us better to start milking those markets in pre-season 2012/13, but Wenger has refused to go there then as the Euros will be on.

The ManagerWe want to see Mr Wenger repeat his early successful years with the club. While we’re appreciative of what Mr Wenger has achieved for Arsenal in the past, we believe that the manager should be held accountable for the success of the team and not the club’s balance sheet. It is felt by many fans that since the departure of David Dein, Mr Wenger has taken on too much responsibility at the club to the detriment of his team. As a major football club, Arsenal should be competing for and winning trophies. Supporters of Arsenal were sold a vision by the Board that we needed to move stadium to move on to the next level, to become a “European Super Club” and that the costs of moving stadium would be “ring-fenced” and not interfere with the playing side. So while we applaud Arsene Wenger and his recent approach of bringing through younger players and achieving Champions League football while turning a profit year on year in the transfer market, the club is here to win things. It’s widely reported and felt that one or two world class additions to the squad can help us achieve success and we firmly believe this. With success and world class players on the pitch, comes the ability for further revenue generation. We will be able to negotiate better sponsorship deals, we’ll sell more merchandise, and the increased income means that the hard-pressed support isn’t consistently expected to take on the burden of swelling the club’s bank balance and profit margin.
Doesnt everyone agree with this though? Can't be just me.And let me clarify I don't want Song sold but believe he should be on the bench. In this squad he's an obvious starter but he is not good enough to be in the first 11. There's a whole heap of players we need to shift before even thinking about Song.

We all agree with it but its simple...Until the half yearlys this summer, Arsenal have not announced a loss for nine years. The reason for this is cos our major yearly profits have always come from matchday revenue, player sales, or property sales. The majority of the property on Highbury is sold so you cant increase revenue there, Wenger can't sell players when fans are calling for him to spend so you can't increase revenue there, basically a club with money to "buy any player Arsene wants" would not attempt to increase matchday revenue unless that was a bunch of bullshit...Our commercial deals are so sh*t that if we aren't selling players or hammering fans to pay for the stadium, the figures look bad.

The sad thing about this increase is it does price out a new generation of fans. Not everyone can afford to go to games at The Grove like they use to.There was a time when PHW even said £50 for a ticket was awful, how times change. Increasingly out of touch with us fans.Reading Arsenal: The Making Of A Modern Superclub, great read and does give you an insight into the dealings with Arsenal

Song isn't the problem, your silly to think this. From his initial time in Arsenal's first team till now, he is becoming world class. But yes We do need at least one world class signing (CB).

Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood is so marginalised that the letter sent to season ticket-holders announcing the 6.5 per cent hike in prices is signed by manager Arsene Wenger for the first time. However, the Arsenal faithful, paying between £995 and £1,995 for the Premier League’s most expensive season tickets, will be underwhelmed by Wenger’s promise: ‘Next season, you will experience some very special moments. For example, we will be playing in a kit with an anniversary crest that honours our founding fathers.’

Same sh*t virtually sent out to Red Members but signed by Ivan Worsell head of ticketing"Next season you will experience some very special moments at the Club. For example, we will be playing in a special kit with anniversary crest for the season. I am also delighted to announce that for the first time when you renew your membership, from 8th June you will have exclusive access for the 2011/2012 season to Arsenal's improved online TV service 'Arsenal Player', amongst many other benefits keeping you ahead of the game as an Arsenal member."
