It's sickening... but what can we do?

I was hurt when I saw Haribo sour strawbs for a pound 30 with half the packet missing :(

I feel your pain. When you can just see bare oxygen at the top of the pack.

Not really a new thing, but yes, disgraceful.

these firms are businesses a business objective is to make as much profit as possible for them and thier shareholders

nothing new here

lol @ thinking they have some sort of duty of care to make sure we get the better end of the deal/value for money

I have been noticing a trend in products being shrunk over the past few years

Its not like they reduce the price

You get a packet of crisps and its mostly air in the pack

What other price rises are hidden?

I laughed when I read this, 1st thought was about them snickers.

I always say to my girl "I swear they used to be bigger than this".

next to the price they have "price per kg or price per 100g" in small writing. use this if in any doubt

also means You gotta shop around more rather than just buying everything in 1 shop

and I respond by cleaning up in fruit/vegetables:

carrots are the cheapest ( around 70p/kg )

roll to self service with my MIXED bag of vegetables

select carrots, and leave the shop laughin ( certain veg i buy are £2.60 /kg . fhuk that )

Downsizing contents and raising prices is disgraceful, whether it makes sense financially for the business or not.
