right i just bought new set of speakers and a woofer for my tv

the end of the wires of the speakers are just two wires...

how would i go about connecting this to an amp?

or is there another way i can connect it to the tv????

iam totally clueless with this kinda stuff, help would be appreciated

Look on the back of ur amp,'you should have a black and a red connector slot, if not u need to connect phono thingummies to them to plug them in

You can connect them to your TV. You just need a crimpling set and tool which can be brought from Halfords or maplins for less than tenner.

as far as i know speakers like that would go into an amp/hifi of some sort

which you would also connect to the tv

Do speakers lose power/quality over time?

Not necessarily. If they've been played at loud volumes over a very long period of time then you could potentially split/crack the diaphragm which will in effect cause the crackling sound, other than that they should last a lifetime if you service them properly.

various ways. im guessing your amp should have an input two circle holes one red one white

your tv/dvd player will have some sort of similar looking audio out

if not you could maybe use headphones out on ur tv with one of these:

copped the red and white wire connected it and it still isnt working

however my tv has different red and white ports all over but it doesnt state which one is for audio

so simple bro, the mini stereo jack just goes into ur tv, probably into the headphone socket.

then put the red and white phono into ANY name pair on the amp.

Then, when ur watchin tv, flick the amp on to whatever input name u used (ie. dvd, aux tapedeck)
