Chief executive Robert Elstone has confirmed that discussions over the future ownership of Everton have started and stressed that the club is not overpriced. Elstone said 'genuine conversations' are taking place regarding ownership and future investment but there was a responsibility to select the 'right buyer with the right intentions'.

Indian construction giant Jain were the latest to be linked with a move but a number of other parties are also understood to be interested.

Toffees chairman Bill Kenwright has come in for criticism over the past couple of months from a section of fans who believe he is the main barrier to progress on the sale.

Would be sick if the league if they got some investment, only 4/5 first team players and and then 2/3 squad players away from challenging the big 6. Plus they got some nice youngsters in Barkley, Garbutt, Gethin Jones and Hope. Would love to see what Moyes does with money at his disposal.

Would also make the derbies more meaningful like the Manchester and NLD derbies at the moment

How do you think Moyes would handle having money to spend? Also what signings would they need to lift them up?
