So I'm sitting next too my girls sister and she saying to her friend "it's so cold outside I nearly stopped to have a sunbed" so I say y the fuck would u go on a sun bed (she's light skin) and then her friend jumps in (she is black) and says "y not I go on them all the time"

I was cracking up finking she was taking the piss but then she said she goes on it every few weeks because it's good for ur skin and gives you a healthy glow and gets rid of spots etc

She then pointed out that black people's skin is designed to be in the sun and needs uv to stay healthy etc

Anyone else know black people that do this?

Btw this girl was brought up in a strict African household and don't really socialize with white people b4 people label her a bounty

She is kinda right, it is to do with Vitamin D.

Black people can't adequately synthesize Vitamin D in this country because of our melanin levels, which block the generally weak sunlight here.

You can get Vitamin D through the diet anyway but it's not a bad idea to make the body naturally produce it every now and then.

Yh that's y I pointed out this girl is African cos I thought everyone else would think of that type of girl, but she has made quite a good argument for it saying if anything she's making herself darker surely that's better than sitting bleaching her skin which is a good point tbf

Boy ! Cold affects black people differently to white people . Why do you think they can step outside their houses in winter in shorts and a t shirt and black people can't .

When we hit cold we need to pull out a tub of co coa butter quickly because our skin drys out .

Thats probably why the girl said the sun is good for black peoples skin . she probably meant heat .
