Which Gang is this, a lotta confusion and contradictions

Recommended Posts

This the general/leader of the Gang

''In October 2005, two gunmen associated with the OC gang opened fire on a family, including an eight-year-old girl and her grandmother, as they stood outside their home. Marlon Crooks was shot as he pulled up outside his mother’s home near Battersea Park to show off his new BMW convertible. OC associates Marlon Stubbs, known as Jokes, and Stefon Thomas, known as Stinks, drew their pistols and aimed a hail of bullets at Marlon Crooks, his young daughter, grandmother, mum, brother and sister. Crooks sped off as one of the pair went to kick in the door of the family home only to be confronted by the grandmother who begged not to be shot.

Stinks Freestyle

Stubbs and Thomas wore Muslim-style head scarves during the shooting, they stood trial alongside a third man. Jermaine Crooks, the brother of Marlon, chased the gunmen in his car, catching up with them outside Battersea Park station. It is here that Stubbs and Thomas made off by jumping onto a train to Clapham Junction. Five spent cartridges from a German Luger pistol were found in Condell Road on the Patmore Estate where the shooting took place.

Stefon Thomas was spotted by police six days later in a black Mercedes. Police followed and apprehended him. When he was pulled from his car and handcuffed police found that he had in his possession a loaded D32 Derringer pistol. Marlon Stubbs and the third suspect were located a month later after being stopped in a minicab on New Kent Road. Concealed within the vehicle was a 0.44 inch calibre black powder percussion revolver found loaded behind the driver’s seat. The three men were jailed in 2006 with Stubbs and Thomas ordered to serve a minimum of four years in the interest of public protection. Marlon Stubbs had a previous conviction for raping two schoolgirls in 1998 and had also been cleared of murdering rival Peel Dem Crew member Adrian Marriot in 2005.''

Location

London Borough of Lambeth, predominantly from Myatt's Field in Brixton but also drew membership from Norwood, Streatham and Tulse Hill.

History

The Nastie Squad, and their younger generations YNS (Young Nastie Squad) and TNS (Tiny Nastie Squad), were formed by a collection of youths from Myatts Field, Norwood, Tulse Hill and Streatham. The oldest generation were largely from Brixton (Myatt’s Fields) whilst the younger generations were from a variety of locations across south London.

Nastie Squad were active from the mid-1990’s until 2002/03 when they became known as OC (Organised Crime), whose current Olders are from the Nastie Squad period. The change to OC came when Myatts Fields joined up with Cowley Road and Vassall Road housing estates. The Nastie Squad’s oldest generation had their main conflicts with other Brixton gangs such as Peel Dem Crew.

''The SMS gang was started by older siblings of some of the groups main rappers this present day. There is a long history between certain areas in the south of Lambeth borough with Brixton, in the early 1990’s SMS founders used to be rivals with the 28’s. The relationship with the late-1990’s onwards Brixton gang Peel Dem Crew was always an “on-off” relationship. In 2005, the death of a prominent Peel Dem Crew member was attributed by the media to SMS, although never substantiated. One of those accused of the murder a year later was arrested for shooting at Marlon Crooks, along with an Organised Crime gang member in south west London’s Condell Road.

The murder in question was that of Peel Dem Crew member Adrian Marriot, also known as Ham. He was killed in June 2004 in Brixton’s Loughborough Junction area. It was alleged at court that the sole motivation was wanting to convert Marriot to Islam. Marcus Archer, Aaron Irving-Simpson and Marcus Stubbs were all tried for conspiracy to murder. In the backdrop of the conversion motive other details in the run-up to his death emerged at court. Marcus Archer is said to have felt threatened by Marriot and another male after an incident at Loughborough Junction. It was claimed that following this incident the murder plan was hatched.

Archer was said to have made contact with Irving-Simpson and Stubbs, from Myatt’s Field and Kennington, to conspire murder. The charges against all three men were thrown out after the prosecution was unable to offer any evidence against them. New evidence received by police, withheld from public, meant that they were unable to convict. However, Archer was jailed for eight years for firearms offences having been arrested in possession of a loaded handgun outside a mosque in Croydon.

Six months later the murder of another male in which SMS were implicated, although again unsubstantiated. In December 2004 Solomon Martin, also known as Blacker, a member of the Peel Dem Crew, was shot dead in Thornton Heath. He was found by emergency services slumped in a silver Renault Clio on New Years Eve. It was following a shoot-out involving two vehicles in the Carolina Road area of Thornton Heath that he was found. He had been travelling in a vehicle with other males, one of whom police believed was the intended target of the gunfire.

Martin was the son of record producer Blacker Dread who also has a music store in Brixton. Before the murder Martin had been at a barbers in Green Lane before leaving in the Clio with three friends. It was followed by a dark vehicle, possibly a Ford Mondeo, which opened fire on the Clio bringing it to a halt in Carolina Road. Up to fifteen shots were fired into the vehicle before the killers made off towards Ingram Road. Solomon, suffering two bullet wounds including a fatal shot to the head, was drive to Pilgrim Hill in West Norwood and he was abandoned in the vehicle. The intended targets in this shooting escaped without injury. Police put forward a £20,000 reward for information leading to a conviction, however his death remains unsolved.

Other incidents in 2004 linked to SMS was the shooting of a police officer in Bromley, a crime which then 19-year-old Zirtash Khan, was given a twenty-two year prison sentence.

A later killing attributed to ‘Muslim gang members’ was that of Matthew Smith who was said to be an innocent man gunned down in a drugs deal double cross in January 2006. Islamic converts Jason Campbell and Daniel Springer shot Smith dead to steal cannabis worth just £250. Smith, who was not involved in the drug deal, was killed in his car as he tried to drive away whilst Campbell and Springer then stole mobile phones from other victims to prevent them calling for medical help''

So in a nut shell Muslim Boys Gang is Organised Crime (OC) from Myatts Estate, Brixton and South Man Syndicate (SMS) from mainly from Streatham.
