iPhone tethering

Can all IOS's be tethered? I don't have the option on my phone from my o2 contract.

I have unlocked my phone and I'm getting an all you can eat data plan from 3 tomorrow. Can I just put that in my iPhone and the tethering option will show?

o2 unlocked my phone to all carriers today, that means I can pop the 3 sim in and crack on, no?

Or do I need to jailbrake to get that option cause my room mate is with 3 and has the tethering option but he's on an older IOS

IOS5 has the tethering option via USB and Wifi

Should be able to pop in a different sim and tether

Cheers, doing it now but it's not as nice on IOS5 as it is on older IOS'.

Only getting speeds of 0.5MBPS as well
