how the f*ck can you complain about a pitch when both teams have to play on it

It's not about two physical entities playing on a pitch it's more about how they are playing on the pitch.

Barcelona have 1 way of playing, that's quick, 1 touch, compact triangles, intricate dribbling and exposing tight spaces.

That pitch last night went against each an every variable mentioned there, it was impossible for them to play.

AC Milan have been playing the same football this year in Serie A but they significantly changed their approach against Barcelona.

Completely avoided the midfield and centre of the pitch.

They focused on keeping the ball of as little as possible, the centrebacks were designed to play the ball over the midfield onto the flanks.

Milan knew they could play this way because they have a 6ft 4inch striker whose powerful that could take advantage in the air over Mascherano.

On the breaks they looked to exploit this especially with Noicerino on the right wing - if it weren't for the late inclusion of Puyol at left back then they would have enjoyed more success.

Clever or desperate.

The 2nd leg Barcelona will gain revenge and everyone knows it.

Which is why most games are played home and away.

When you play at home it is supposed to be your advantage. Why make it easier for the other team?

Ive seen wonder goals scored on 45 degree angle pitches that have no grass on and potholes at the weekend,

these pros are getting paid millions, they can deal with 'below average' thousand pound pitches ffs.

to havin unicef on their shirts

* Qatar International *

Faze pretty much summed it up though.

And @Mark Iniesta, I don't think AC Milan are responsible for providing UEFA branded balls. that's UEFA's own f*ckup

this is minor compared to the Young Boys pitch Tottenham had to play on. Had to play in next boots on a complete next surface. nothing was done about that, nothing needs to be done about this
