SHOCK

Funny how life can change in a week

Recommended Posts

So 2 days ago i got a call whilst at work from a solicitors, and the guy i spoke to said i need to come in to hear the reading of my late grandma's will. Wasn't expecting nothing to be honest - yeah me and my grandma was close but she left behind a big family, maybe a couple grand since i am only a grand child. So anyway i'm in this plush office listening intensively while this guy was going on and then he dropped it. She left me 600 bloodclart k (her house) and 125k Cash, Blood bumba. My heart dropped. I have never had this type of money in my life. My cousin got shares he was kool with that he got pees already.

So i'm thinking yeah i can finally start my business and get on the property market now etc all thanks to my grandparents hard work, They came from jamaica in the 50's with not a penny in thier pocket. Then it suddenly dawned on me. Why did she leave it to me? Is it because im the business orientated one in the fam and perhaps the wisest of the grandchildren? Or that all of my family have got thier careers and doing well? Fuk knows,

But now i'm thinking could this turn into a disaster now, my family are probably going to look at me with the begging bowl and expect some money, which is fine, however there's 22 greatgranchildren, 7 children and other ones i can't remember. Alot of them can piss off because they never was close to my gran but this could get sticky still. I think they can split 50k is that f*ckry lol

On that note im worth over half a milly :Y: >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

No inheritance tax aswell :Y:

Congrats bro,

Family members can be vultures when they want to be, I think it's best to use your discretion to hand pick those whom you know to deserve it in relation to their relationship with your grand ma first, then you second.

Don't feel obliged to spill a penny to someone who you've never seen/heard from your whole life bar a few family meet ups

Only my immediate family know right now i.e. mum, dad and sister. But will have to tell the aunties and uncles sooner rather than later. Luckily my dad is the boss of the family so no one can chat sh*t to meh.

Respect to your grandma R.I.P

The money was to you one there is always bad blood in these situations. Up to you to share some of it. But there is still gonna be resentment towards you.

It's easy to say cop properties but some thought and strategy should go into it before becoming a landlord, not to say he doesn't know but yeah.

Search for potential housing asset growth areas like Stratford and new housing developments and try get yards on auction, homes under the hammer-esque.

Besides that though, some conspicuous consumption must be happening what will your first selfish buy be?

When all paper work goes through and i pay some fees etc then im gona pay some of my parents mortgage off. The first purchase im going to invest into is education, courses, seminars, books, networking clubs, events. Once im on a clear path and have passive income ima cop a M3 straight off the forecourt, but thats not for now. Never gona be the nicca in the club throwing money and wasting it on champagne and image.

Congrats. I'm happy for you.

You must feel over the moon but with slight pressure? Sounds like she past the family torch onto to you to run with & hopefully expand.

Your late granmother reminds me of my wife's granmother who past away last year. She was also came from JA with nothing from those early times. It's amazing what she managed to achieve & consequently left for her family.

When her will was read out people's true colours came out tho. It was very sad to watch but  @ family members who never/rarely checked for her coming out of the wood works & expecting hand outs.
