The pic proves nothing. Assuming its him, it was apparently taken last year, way before he made this announcement. Even on that BBC documentary earlier this month I think he said that there was nothing players could do about the shirts. So its obvious to me that he has been reevaluating his principles over time and has come to the decision that wearing the shirt would be wrong. Maybe the run up to/ the month of Ramadan played a part in that too.

But to me the pic doesn't undermine his decision even if it was taken yesterday. If you say that nobody can ever stand against something on grounds of principle if they sin elsewhere in their lives then no-one can ever stand for anything because no human is free from sin

And there is a big difference between once in a while giving in to temptation in a casino where you might have expected privacy, and promoting Riba to millions of people worldwide every match for a whole season.

Don't get me wrong I of course thinking gambling is wrong but the media don't care about that they're just using one Islamic principle to undermine another one.

These clubs are very scared of more Muslim players asking to wear unbranded/ charity shirts. And see how the obscure pic was kept hidden until the right time. Classic tactics. They probably have dirt on all Muslim players/ Muslims in public life to pull out should they step out of line.

He has worn a kit endorsing two different brands, which both endorse riba

Cisse at the time did not express any problem with this

If you want to beleive it's for another reason, fair enough, it could well be true, but you are obviously using your heart and not your head, so dont try and go the logic route
