It's the Olympics. You're driving in London.

In an interview on BBC Radio 4's Today programme, Coe said the Olympic organising committee, Locog, had a responsibility to protect the commercial "rights of sponsors".

He said spectators would not be able to gain entry wearing a Pepsi T-shirt but that they would "probably" get in wearing Nike trainers. Commercial rivals Adidas and Coca-Cola are the official London 2012 Olympic sponsors in their industries.

yea it's true

that was decided ages ago

it's particularly f*cked because the picture that very scenario painted (the marathon going through east london) helped bring the games here.

once won, they quickly said that part was just a metaphor.

This is why Seb Coe is a c*nt.

How can you put an end to a tradition (finishing the marathon in the stadium) thats been going for f*ck knows how many years.

It's obvious whats going on here.

Is it true that for the marathon event they're being made to do laps around central London instead of going through East London???

If so that is f*cked.

LOL but come on

doing laps round the slums of hackney, tower hamlets and newham isnt exactly what the world should see tbh

I'm already pissed off with these olympics and they haven't even started properly yet.

It's basically a full takeover of london by select corporate interests with a bit of sport thrown in.

you ppl are excited

i have seen east london moreso newham change dramtically - new building, less bummy looking etc jobs have been created most short term but a lot of long term

yes its corporate and shit but take some pride that at least you can say the olympics to place in my city

LMAO, how have I only found out about this guy?

Eric Moussambani Malonga (born May 31, 1978) is a swimmer from Equatorial Guinea. Nicknamed "Eric the Eel" by the media after the name first appeared in an article by Craig Lord in The Times newspaper in London, Moussambani won brief international fame at the 2000 Summer Olympics when he swam his heat of the 100 m freestyle in 1:52.72.[1] His time was more than twice that of his faster competitors, and outside even the 200 m world record. However, he set a new personal best and Equatoguinean national record.

how can man set the national record with the slowest time in olympic history?

fuckin hell
