Racism In Football

Over 100 football related reported incidents of racism in just the last two seasons

Frimpong came out and apologised about being sent off for reacting to racism, seems like you lot are more bothered about it then him

Obviously cashing his cheque is more important to him than being racially abused. Same with being paid by a club who thinks you should ignore any racism thrown at you (if it even exists of course)

How can you have sympathy for a guy like that who will put money before his own racial pride and heritage?

Typical :nog: responses.

I'm sure these responses have little to do with his reaction to the racism, more to do with letting his career go down the pan until he's at a no-name Russian club facing abuse with no backing from the board.

You're a d*ckhead for using the word "nog" you prick!

The FA are investigating claims Reading forward Nick Blackman was subjected to racist taunts during their Capital One Cup win at Portsmouth.

Reading reported the alleged abuse to referee Gavin Ward and Fratton Park stewards.

Portsmouth fan Kevin Smith claimed on Twitter he witnessed a fellow supporter making 'monkey gestures and sounds' to Blackman, who scored in Reading's 2-1 win.

An FA spokesperson said on Wednesday: 'We are aware of an allegation and are investigating. We have contacted both clubs.'

Blackman netted an equaliser for the Royals during their 2-1 win after Conor Chaplin had given the hosts a first-half lead.

Garath McCleary scored the winner for the Championship side in the 84th minute and Reading will host either Barnsley or Everton

Speaking after the game, Reading assistant manager Kevin Keen said: 'Credit to Nick because there were a couple of incidents in the first half with the crowd.

'For that to happen to Nick and for him to come through and respond in the right manner by scoring a goal that puts us on the way to a good win, shows what sort a person he is.'
